Take a listen to the latest Unique Beats podcast...it's a blinder!

A new website is currently being designed and one of the main changes we're making to Unique Beats for 2011 is to get it more community focussed so if you want to get involved you can!

We're looking for articles on all things electronica from gig reviews, gear reviews, recording help etc.  Anything you want!

We're looking for podcasts and mixes featuring your favourite electronica tunes - but make sure you add at least a few tracks from unsigned up-and-coming electronica acts, preferably from your area of the world.

We're loking for photo's, video, training...basically eveyrthing!  Get involved, get articles and podcasts read and listened to by thousands of people.

Apparently Facebook Groups are soooo last season – this year it's all about the fan page. With that in mind we've created an Alex Tronic Records fan page for all you lovely people to join. In celebration of our new fan page we'll be giving away CD's and downloads from the labels back catalogue to our fans every month starting on the 1st of November with 4 free copies of the Alex Tronic's “To Infinity” album to some of our lucky fans. After that we'll be giving away music every month as well as discount vouchers and occasionally throwing in tasty prizes like studio and mastering time...this surely makes us the nicest label that ever existed!

Alex Tronic Records

Alex Tronic Records is Edinburgh's leading electronica label and they've asked Unique Beats to get involved with finding them some tasty new acts.

With a brand new site on its way, new signings including Unique Beats' very own Melvitronica, and a whole host of lovely competitions to win CD's gearing up, now is the time to get on board with ATR.

ATR have garnered critical acclaim for all of their releases as well as topping download charts across the globe...not only that, but anyone signed to the label will have their music released to over 240 online music shops/stream sites including iTunes (worldwide), Beatport, Spotify, Nokia Music and many more.

Unique Beats' super web portal machine (laptop) died hence the lack of updates but we're back and just in time to let you know about some amazing electronica events taking place in Edinburgh very soon.

We can't recommend highly enough the immense band The Bays, electronica legends and a band that manages to draw huge crowds and headline festivals without ever releasing an album. eh?  Because they improvise every single live gig they've ever done. Immense.  They are playing the Edinburgh Caves on the 1st of August supported by The Hidden Orchestra (formerly Joe Acheson Quartet) and Asthmatic Astronaut - who have both played at previous Unique Beats events and are amazing.  All Edinburgh (and beyond) fans need to be there...we certainly will.  Click here to buy tickets before it's too late.

So it's been a long time coming but Unique Beats has finally started collecting tracks from the artists that have performed at one of our events to appear on our first free compilation.  We've started receiving tracks and if the quality stays this good (which it will) this compilation may literally blow your face off...in a good way!

We hope we can release it sometime in July and it will be released through Unique Beats netlabel and a number of other websites and netlables so hopefully, in keeping with our events, we'll be getting our artists some fantastic exposure and much deserved recognition.  We'll keep the updates coming but for now we've just received Anchorsong's submission so we're off to have a listen...

Well what can I say?  It happened - it was amazing!  Pictures and videos to come very soon as well as details of our plans for a show during this years Edinburgh Fringe.
